My professional path began with seismic surveys of the ocean floor, leading to roles in offshore oil and gas production. At GRID-Arendal, I have been privileged to contribute to the Continental Shelf Programme, assisting developing nations in defining their maritime boundaries under the UN Law of the Sea. This work has deepened my commitment to capacity building and collaborative governance. Expanding my focus to geological resources, I have engaged in initiatives aimed at transforming mining practices, particularly concerning the management of tailings dams. Co-authoring reports such as Mine Tailings Storage: Safety Is No Accident, I advocate for transparency and safety in the extractive industries .
