Weddell Seal (Leptonychotes weddellii), Antarctic Peninsula

Description

The Weddell seal is a relatively large and abundant true seal (family: Phocidae) with a circumpolar distribution surrounding Antarctica. Weddell seals eat an array of fish, krill, squid, bottom-feeding prawns, cephalopods and crustaceans.
